Page Personnel are recruiting for an Assistant Management Accountant on behalf of one of the UK’s leading retail businesses.
The purpose of this role is to assist in the accurate production of management accounts and reports for the core finance unit. The role offers excellent progression routes and study support towards becoming a fully qualified chartered accountant.

Description
Assistant Management Accountant duties include:
- Help produce management accounts including P&L, balance sheet and cash flow, including variance analysis and commentaries
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Posting of journals (accruals prepayments, payroll)
- Bank reconciliations
- Assist with the preparation of quarterly VAT returns
- Support the completion of finance related projects and process improvements
- Produce reports and data analysis as required by the business
- Contribute to annual budgeting and planning process
- Ensure compliance with all financial regulations
- Work closely with the Management Accountants on the year end statutory accounts, audit and tax queries
- Review accounting processes and practices to improve the efficiency of the finance function
- Analyse financial information to assist business profitability and growth
- Assisting the Management Accounts produce reports for business partner & stakeholder meetings
Profile
The successful candidate will:
- Have a proven track record within a finance / accounting role with some exposure to month end / management accounts
- Be part qualified with ACA / ACCA / CIMA
- Be an excellent written and verbal communicator
- Be able to work to tight deadlines
- Be able to work alone and as part of a team
- Have strong attention to detail
- Be proficient in MS Office, particularly MS Excel
